We’re delighted to host the launch of the recently released book Who Cares – help for those caring for seriously ill loved ones at home. “Who Cares” offers ideas, strategies and support for carers (and the family and friends around the carer so the carer can be offered improved ‘carer care’).
Come and hear Joan in conversation with 2013 Finch Memoir Prize winner Marie Williams. Take the opportunity to ask questions and, for those interested to do so, purchase the book.
In late 2002 Joan Wilson-Jones’ partner Philip was diagnosed with an aggressive metastasised prostate cancer and his wish was to be cared for at home.
Joan says five years as a carer taught her so much and she has put together this book which she says she wishes she had beside her during her 5 years as the primary carer for her partner. Her aim now is to share it around with carers and their families and friends, offering strategies to assist.
Joan who is a very well-known and popular presenter all over Australia says, “This is much more than a memoir and bigger than a self-help book because I know we can do all this much better – I know we can.”
