Rita Ryan’s interest and history in the Feldenkrais Method led her to becoming a Practitioner in 1990. She has worked from then with the Feldenkrais Method teaching people about Awareness Through Movement. This is done in groups and in private sessions. Terms such as Awareness Through Movement (ATM) and Functional Integration (FI) are used to describe the group classes and the individual work.
Rita says, “Feldenkrais is a system of learning that promotes the idea that each of us has the capacity to improve. As we do the classes or private work we learn to find less discomfort, tension and pain. We also learn to find more ease, comfort and flexibility in our movement and our life. My own interest as a Feldenkrais Practitioner has and is to continue my process of growth and change through this learning method.”
